Guest downloads
« on: February 10, 2012, 06:56:45 pm »
Hey there, me again.

I really really want to be able to allow guests (non-members or people not logged in/registered) to be able to buy digital products or download the free ones.

I thought this worked when I tried it before, but maybe not.

How can I allow people to download products without logging in?  (At the very least download the free products).

Thanks!

It should work. What settings do you have enabled? Anything happen on guest purchase?

If you try to buy* the free download as a guest it says you must be a member.  I've probably changed a setting somewhere, but boggered if I know where!

As an example: http://tomecity.com/smf/emarket/index.php?action=store;sa=view&id=12

I've probably got the category settings wrong or something.  :o

*As an aside, is there a way to change the button text for a free item?  Something like:  Download free item, rather than buy free item?

Yes you can found in the languages/Store.english.php file.

What happens or what is displayed? If you have secure download link enabled which is required for guest downloads.

Yep, I have the secure download link checked (I assume you mean:

Guests can purchase digital downloads using secure download link

...in the store settings)

I thought I'd checked this before, and it worked, but I may be confused.  If so, not sure what changed (or what I changed), but I can't see anything obvious.

When a guest clicks the download free item link, it says

Quote
Only registered members are allowed access to this section

It works fine for registered members.

I'm also getting an email message:

Quote
License codes low for FileID: 0

Not sure what that means?

Fixed it. Try this file and copy it to your sources folder

I'm fairly sure I have the setting correct, but I'm happy to give you admin access to the store to check if you'd like.

After payment you do not receive an email with a link to download the file?

I've not actually checked the paid items yet!  I'm just talking about the free ones.
